Air India is facing fresh turbulence following last week’s fatal crash as additional safety inspections on its Dreamliner fleet have led to flight delays, cancellations and growing passenger anxiety.

Vishwashkumar, who was sitting in seat 11a on the Air India flight, is receiving treatment at Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital, where he has been visited by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also attended the bedside of locals who were not onboard the plane but were struck and injured by the crash.

The sole survivor from the Air India plane crash has said it is a “miracle” he survived but added he feels “terrible” he could not save his brother. An Air India plane heading from Ahmedabad Airport to London Gatwick crashed shortly after taking off last week on Thursday, June 12, killing 241 of the 242 passengers on board.
