i just wanted to see what everybodys thoughts are on the best DVD-ROM's for PC's. I'd like DAE to be very good and a quiet drive as well.

Yep, that's standard when the DVD player is going thru a VCR before connecting to a TV. I have a relatively old 25" TV that regrettably only has a coax input.
