The first extensive anthology drawn from the bespoke jazz catalogue of one of the world's most loved and admired drummers, the legendary Charlie Watts, will be released by BMG on June 30th.

An extensive jazz catalog from late Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts titled Anthology has just been released on June 30.

Charlie Watts, whose powerful drumming propelled the Rolling Stones for more than half a century, has died, according to his rep. He was 80.

He explained that his side band, the Charlie Watts Quintet, was a labor of love that allowed him to stretch his chops beyond the usual rock music he performed as part of his day job.

In the latest act of remembrance for Charlie Watts, an anthology of all of his jazz recordings is set to be released on June 30 via BMG.

The Charlie Watts Big Band performed globally in the 1980s and in 1993, he released a jazz album, Warm & Tender, with the Charlie Watts Quintet.
