Alabama football has started to shift its future non-conference scheduling after the addition of a ninth SEC game.

Byrne also said that Alabama will do its best to remain at seven home games per season for the foreseeable future. After 2025, the Tide has two Power 4 non-conference games scheduled per season from 2028-2035, so more changes are likely coming.

The canceled series was noted as a mutually agreed-upon decision by both universities, and is being done on Alabama’s part in response to the recent announcement by the Southeastern Conference (SEC) to expand to a nine-game conference schedule for football beginning in 2026.
