Dubai International Airport, one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs, remained in disarray Thursday after unprecedented heavy rain led to airliners having to negotiate flooded runways.
New designs have been revealed for Dubai’s Al Maktoum International. It will have capacity for 260 million passengers a year, which would make it the busiest airport in the world.
Dubai International Airport, a major travel hub, struggled to clear a backlog of flights and many roads were still flooded in the aftermath of Tuesday’s deluge.
Water still covers some roads around Dubai International Airport, but the major hub expects to be fully running again soon as the UAE bails out from a deluge.
