Each letter in the tire speed rating chart corresponds to a maximum speed limit. The chart is arranged alphabetically from A to Z, except for H which is unconventionally placed between T and V.

There's a lot of numbers associated with picking out tires for your car, but one you may not look too closely at is arguably the most important: speed rating.

Your speed-rated tires are expensive, so naturally if there's a leak, you'd want to fix them. But be careful: those repairs may destroy the tire's speed rating.
