The primary treatment for a tooth abscess is always surgical: drainage, root canal, or extraction. Antibiotics alone cannot cure an abscess because they can’t remove the source of the infection.
Tooth abscesses are easily preventable in most cases and it doesn’t really require much effort. Dental treatment can work out to be extremely expensive and will also cause considerable discomfort.
