According to reports, Amazon Prime has greenlit a brand-new limited series based on the case of Karen Read, with The Better Sister actor Elizabeth Banks cast as the woman at the center of the case.

Actor and director Elizabeth Banks will portray Karen Read in an upcoming Amazon Prime Video series about the criminal legal saga that ended in June with Read’s acquittal, according to a publicist for the Hollywood star. “She is also producing” the Read series, said Banks publicist Jessica Kolstad via email.
