The 1992 trailer actually focuses mostly on the character of Helen Lyle, played by Virginia Madsen. She's a student who has heard about the Candyman legend and is interested in investigating it.

A two-minute clip was released for the film produced by Jordan Peele and directed by Nia DaCosta and featured plenty of blood, mirrors, bees, and even a version of a Destiny's Child track.

And based on the trailer, the legend of the Candyman is significantly expanded upon from the backstory presented in the 1992 version.
