シンガポールのチャンギ空港の新ターミナルである第5ターミナル（T5）の着工式が5月14日、行われた。建設は、旅客の動向に応じて段階的に行われ、第1期工事は2030年半ばに完成する予定だ。同空港の旅客取り扱い能力は現行の年間9,000万人から1億4,000万人へと増加する見込み。同空港を発着する航空路線を結ぶ都市は現行の約170都市から、約200都市への拡大を目指す。
