Work by Kier Construction on the Pozzoni-designed scheme began in January 2023 and has seen the whole 1970s leisure centre reset with an added studio space and a spa facility.

The housebuilder wants to deliver 140 affordable homes across two schemes, with 85 plotted off Broughton Road and a further 55 in Winterley.
