    1. Select the cell where you want to calculate the time difference.

    2. Use the formula =End_Time - Start_Time to calculate the time difference between two time values.

    3. Press Enter to display the result. If the result appears in a time format, proceed to the next step.

    4. To format the result, select the cell and press Ctrl + 1 to open the Format Cells dialog box.

    5. Go to the Number tab and select Custom under Category.

    6. Enter the desired format in the Type field: h:mm for hours and minutes. h:mm:ss for hours, minutes, and seconds. [h]:mm:ss to display total hours exceeding 24.

    7. Click OK to apply the format.

    Calculating Time in Specific Units

    1. To calculate the difference in hours, use =(End_Time - Start_Time)*24.

    2. For minutes, use =(End_Time - Start_Time)*1440.

    3. For seconds, use =(End_Time - Start_Time)*86400.
