Roblox and Scratch are similar in that they both offer platforms for creating games. However, Roblox uses the Unity engine, which is more complex than Scratch's engine. Both platforms have games made on them, but the engines they use differ.

Although you can create a character from scratch, it isn't easy to do if you’re new to Roblox Studio. You have to put blocks together, resize them, and even fuse them. This is before you start dealing with animations. It’s far easier to either take an existing character model and customise it to look how you want, or use your own avatar as a base.

Clicking Make a Block brings up a dialogue allowing the user to make a procedure. Once OK is pressed, the new block appears in the palette and an empty definition appears in the code area. When the procedure runs, Scratch will run the blocks below the corresponding Define block.
