Using the Screenshot Toolbar (macOS Mojave 10.14 or later)

1. Press Shift + Command + 5 to open the Screenshot Toolbar.

2. Choose one of the following options: Record Entire Screen. Record Selected Portion (drag to adjust the area to record).

3. Click Options to configure settings: Select a microphone to record audio. Choose a Save to location for the recording. Set a timer if needed. Enable Show Mouse Clicks to highlight clicks during recording.

4. Click Record to start recording.

5. To stop, click the Stop button in the menu bar or press Command + Control + Esc.

6. The recording will save to the selected location, typically the Desktop.

Using QuickTime Player

1. Open QuickTime Player from the Applications folder.

2. Go to the menu bar and select File > New Screen Recording.

3. If the Screenshot Toolbar appears, follow the steps above. Otherwise: Click the arrow next to the Record button to select a microphone or enable Show Mouse Clicks.

4. Click the Record button and: Click anywhere to record the entire screen. Drag to select a specific area, then click Start Recording.

5. To stop, click the Stop button in the menu bar or press Command + Control + Esc.

6. The recording will automatically open in QuickTime Player, where you can play, edit, or save it.
