I’ve seen countless reuploads of clothing because people wanted to layer them but you can’t in Roblox. Layered classic clothing also shouldn’t be a performance issue in general because clothing textures already are very low resolution and Roblox already internally bakes clothing and accessories to one big texture for convenience.

The companies used Roblox’s Layered Clothing technology that allows for “hyper-realistic 3D clothing” that fits any avatar. “Barbie, a SoCal native plays in the same inclusive, empowering and fashionable space that our customers love, appreciate and have come to expect from our business,” Winnie Park, CEO of Forever 21, said in a statement.

Users can now outfit existing Roblox avatars with up to 6 layers of clothing, on top of any existing classic clothing. We are already seeing over 2,000 user created clothing and accessories submitted to the Avatar Shop by the community in just the last few weeks.
