This is how we like to build our wool shed, affordable, with recycled materials to keep costs down. From a few fence palings, bolts, and scrap timber to a shelf we’ll use and love for years. Simple materials, a little time, and a whole lot of satisfaction | The Current Place

Before meets After in the wool shed ✨ Though I wish the Afters stayed longer than they do… as soon as one room is finished, a whirlwind rolls through and it’s flipped upside down for the next project. These Afters are fleeting but oh so sweet 🤍 | The Current Place

I used to think building was a man’s job… turns out, I just needed to give myself a chance. From zero experience to tackling a 400sqm wool shed reno, every challenge has taught me something new (sometimes the hard way). With a little help from my local Mitre10 and a whole lot of determination, I’ve learned to back myself—and now, I’m just getting started. Here’s to women who build, create, and figure it out as they go. Because if I can do it, trust me, anyone can.... Mitre 10 New Zealand #sharemi

D spent all day working on this entryway and we’ve both been chucking in ideas on how to make it look beautiful and then all of a sudden D mentioned does it look to much? And as soon as he said that I lost my shit 😂 So now we need some clarity and D has worked on some other options to salvage it! My option 1: is that it be gone 😆(I’m only having D on) Option 1: leave the slats exposed at the front Option 2: cover the slat fronts with some moulding Option 3: the new design D has done with mould

This was actually the most nerve wrecking thing we’ve done in the room, first cutting into the wall and then seeing if an idea of counter sinking the draws and a wardrobe would actually work and look good. So glad we’re trying out these ideas in our own space cause I would have heart attacks trying to do this for someone else. So glad we just backed ourselves and just went for it! Oh and we will show you what it looks like at the back! | The Current Place

Before we can get busy working on the shed we need to organise it ready for the big year we have planned ahead. Starting with the workshop. Tools paints and what nots need to have their place to leave use and return to its designated spot. It’s not going to any epic wow factor other than it being organised that being said it doesn’t have to look like crap either heheh. This is going to feel like a massive exhale when we have it all completed. | The Current Place

Stage one of the deck is finally done. At first it was way more challenging than we thought and then once we got the hang of it, all it took was a bit of patience. Stage 2 and 3 is what we’re most excited about. We look forward to showing you guys our ideas 🤩 | The Current Place

This video is completely dedicated to mum to say thank you for going out of your way to plant out our garden again after the cows destroyed it when we were in Vietnam. My mum is one of a kind someone who truly will go out of their way to help others in any way possible…hence adopting 6 extra kiddies! Thanks so much mum for going out of your way to buy and then plant out the garden now we will have some yummy Kai for summer! | The Current Place

Still, my jaw drops when I look back at what the shed once was. Walking in for the very first time, I could see the potential, but I never truly imagined it would become this.We had no idea we’d pull it off the way we have and honestly, we couldn’t be prouder.I’m so grateful for all of my man’s mahi, for always encouraging me, for pushing me through the hard days when renos didn’t feel so fun, and for keeping the vision alive. Without you, this shed wouldn’t be what it is today. Here’s to the lon

Well… we were on a mean roll yesterday but today just isn’t going to plan, every single cut or board we tried to put up wasn’t fitting into the space we had measured. Thank god for Saveboard cause if we were using GIB we would be 100% broke and probably bankrupt at the very start of the shed build 😆 | The Current Place

I never want to clean this room again! That was a nightmare, there was nowhere to move each mess so I just had to chuck everything to one side of the room and slowly work my way around. Not to mention all the insulation ripped up into a million pieces thanks to Georgie. You did a real good job in there mate. And the itchiness for the next day, I seriously don’t understand how people choose to do this as a job! And thanks to my man for offering to help me clean this when we would be back here toget

Nothing beats a fresh argument to tidy a room you’ve been neglecting for months. If there’s anything good that came out of the argument it’s definitely this 😂 Anyone else rage clean in these situations? 😆 | The Current Place

for pro builders this deck would be taking for ever. But for us it’s bloody speedy. We have learnt so much stuff we never knew. Like string lines and profiles to get your foundations all straight. Still not as straight as it could be but still bloody proud. | The Current Place

It’s colour time in my art space, and I’m so excited to finally get my chosen shade up on the thick, rough-sawn timber slats you guys helped me pick.We headed off to our amazing crew at @resenecolour to grab my beautiful, light, warm Double Parchment. After all the deep, moody colours we’ve been drowning in, I wanted to completely switch things up — and I’m in love.D, on the other hand… not so much. He keeps dropping hints that there might be a “better” colour to tie in with the rest of the shed

#ad I’m not naturally a highly organised person, but my New Year’s resolution this year is to save valuable time by getting my act together and making organisation a priority—starting with my scullery! We designed and built an adjustable shelving system so that any containers we chose would fit perfectly. That was the plan, anyway. Luckily, Mitre10 had the perfect containers to fit our shelving: the Sistema Ultra range and Kate’s Kitchen Preserving Jars. The Kate’s Kitchen jars are less than $6 ea

We just wanted to prep for a deck… instead we uncovered an unlimited supply of dirt and entered survival mode to avoid another day of digger hire. Late night and super dusty, but we got it done. Now onto our first ever retaining wall, armed with Stan the man on YouTube, Dad’s advice, and a whole lot of confidence we probably shouldn’t have. | The Current Place

Amongst my family and the only two ladies I’ve partnered with, I’ve always been known as the hard, tough, grumpy guy with a stubborn streak. And yep thats true. Add ADHD to the mix and I’m not exactly the easiest man to live with. Big ups to them for still loving me. My hard traits go both ways. Stubborn means I won’t give up on you or our dream, Grumpy guy means when it comes to defending you, I’m your taniwha. Hard man means I’ll take the hits for you and your whanau… unless you’re a dick. The last week of NzRenotok we’ve been tasked with our Greenhouse with Mitre 10 New Zealand which we couldn’t be more stoked about! So it’s that time of the week where we gather ideas from you all and see what we can come up with together to make this Greenhouse Next level! What are some must haves and what are some absolute dreams? Would love to hear them all and hopefully we can make a few of them come to life 🙌🏼 ..@nzrenotok | The Current Place

100% one of the things I love about D is he’s always willing to help! If he sees someone struggling he will go help. If he sees a broken down car he will go and help. If he sees a hitch hiker he will take them where they need to go. Even to the point of telling people off for parking in disabled car parks who aren’t meant to be in there and making them move 😆 Love my mans wairua 🩶 | The Current Place
